 Merrymakers
Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to brightening
the lives of seniors and elderly through music and laughter. Merrymakers provide live, musical performances to 79 area assisted
living and nursing homes. Each care center receives a monthly
visit from the Merrymakers Association, at no cost to the
facilities. Hands clap, toes tap, and sleepy eyes twinkle, at a
Merrymakers' performance. Nursing home staff often get asked to
dance, as residents enjoy an opportunity to move to music that can
spark a happy memory.
 Music is often used with elderly persons to
increase their level of physical, emotional and mental
functioning. The sensory and intellectual stimulation of music can
help maintain or improve a persons’ quality of life. Merrymakers
provide a variety of quality performances to address the musical
preferences of all audiences.
